OPTEC SFP28 CWDM Transceivers are interchangeable optical modules designed for data transmission at speeds of up to 25 Gbps over single-mode fibre (SMF) networks. They use CWDM technology (Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing), which enables multiple independent optical signals at different wavelengths to be transmitted over a single optical fibre. This solution increases the capacity of existing fibre-optic infrastructure without the need to install additional cables.

The modules use the standard SFP28 form factor, providing high bandwidth while maintaining a compact size. They are equipped with two LC optical connectors (duplex), enabling bidirectional data transmission.

OPTEC SFP28 CWDM transceivers operate on optical channels within the wavelength range of 1270 nm to 1610 nm, spaced 20 nm apart. Each module has an assigned transmit wavelength (TX), while the wide receive wavelength range (RX) allows signals at different CWDM wavelengths to be received. This makes the modules suitable for optical multiplexing systems that enable efficient use of available optical fibres.

The built-in DDM function (Digital Diagnostic Monitoring) enables monitoring of the transceiver's key operating parameters, such as temperature, supply voltage, laser bias current, and the optical transmit and receive power. This facilitates connection diagnostics, module status monitoring and ongoing network infrastructure management.

The hot-swappable design allows the module to be installed and replaced without powering down the device, making network infrastructure maintenance and expansion easier. OPTEC SFP28 CWDM transceivers are suitable for use in network switches, routers and transmission equipment supporting the 25G SFP28 interface.
