The optical gel in mechanical splice eliminates the effects of imprecise cutting or a possible break between optical fibres.
The universal construction of mechanical splices enables connecting fibre optic cables with 2.0x3.0mm diameter and allows high quality connections of multi-mode and single-mode optical fibres.
Mechanical splices are adapted to connect optical cables wherever conncections are spliced, e.g. to connect cables with pigtails in switches or to repair damaged optical lines.
