Tycon HSS Closure is a heat-shrink composite splice closure designed to protect telecommunications cable joints against weather conditions and mechanical damage. It is suitable for non-pressurized telecommunications networks using aerial, underground or duct-installed cables, both gel-filled and dry, with polyethylene, lead, steel or aluminium sheaths.

The multilayer construction based on Rayfort-type sheets provides high mechanical resistance during installation and operation. The hot-melt adhesive creates a watertight seal between the closure and the cable sheath, protecting the splice against moisture ingress. An internal metal basket stabilizes the structure and protects the cable joint against damage. A special three-finger clamp with hot-melt adhesive allows up to three cables to be introduced from each side of the closure.

Key Features:

  • Cable joint protection - protects against moisture, weather conditions and mechanical damage

  • Heat-shrink construction - enables durable closure and sealing of the cable joint

  • Multilayer Rayfort sheets - provide mechanical resistance during installation and subsequent operation

  • Hot-melt adhesive - creates a watertight seal against the cable sheath

  • Protective metal basket - stabilizes the structure and protects the splice core

  • Flexible cable routing - the three-finger clamp allows up to three cables to be introduced from each side

  • Wide range of applications - suitable for aerial, underground and duct-installed cables with sheaths made of various materials.
