Explanation of the markers printed on OPTIX cables

OPTIX Aramid Z-XOTKtcdD: lightweight single tube construction (20kg/km), high flexibility and dragging resistance despite small diameter (~5.5mm), gel and water blocking construction (WB), HDPE coating, UV resistance, temperature range from -40°C – 70°C, reinforced with 2 ARP (ø 0.5mm) / FRP (ø 0.4mm) rods and aramid fibres, equivalent : Aramid Z-XOTKtcdD. Maximum tension strength: 1200N. 

All fibres of the cable are color coded according to the eia/tia-598 coding standard. The tube containing up to 24 optical fibres is filled with hydrophobic gel to protect the fibres from moisture and vibration. The cable is reinforced with aramid fibres. Two ARP or FRP rods are sunk into the outer HDPE layer to provide additional structural strength. Two threads embedded into the sheath make it easier to remove the cable's outer sheath (ripcords). The cables are intended for installation in primary and secondary telecommunication sewage systems using pneumatic (blowing) and mechanical (pulling) methods, as well as for aerial installations on spans up to 80m.
