Explanation of the markers printed on OPTIX cables

OPTIX Micro GROOVE ZW-XOTKtcdD OMUC504: a family of microchannel cables for microtubes up to 3.0mm diameter. Lightweight small diameter construction, reinforced with aramid fibres, gel protecting the fibres against water (WB), fully dielectric, black HDPE coating (0.3mm) – UV resistance, tension force 50N, temperature range from -20…+70 [°C] - ZW-XOTKtcdD equivalent.

The Micro GROOVE cable has a grooved outer sheath which additionally facilitates blowing the cable in.

All fibres are color coded according to eia/tia-598 coding standard. Each tube containing up to 24 fibres is filled with hydrophobic gel to protect the fibres from moisture and vibrations. The cables are designed for installation using pneumatic methods (blowing).
