Explanation of the markers printed on OPTIX cables
Optix S-XOTKt (GYXTC8Y) octal cable with self-supporting structure, the supporting element is made of galvanized steel cables 7x1,0mm, intended for hanging on a span up to 100m (SAG 2-3%), lightweight multi-tube construction, gel and water blocking structure (WB), fibre glass, resistance to UV radiation, the jacket is made of high density POLYETHYLENE, temperature range from -40...+70 [°C], equivalent: S-XOTKt, tension strength: 6000N.
All fibres and tubes of the cable are color coded according to the coding standard. Each tube containing up to 12 optical fibres is filled with hydrophobic gel to protect the fibres from moisture and vibration. The centre of the cable is protected against water penetration with the use of gel placed in the centre of the cable between the tubes. The cable tubes and filling elements are twisted around the central strengthening element. The thread embedded in the sheath is used to facilitate removal of the cable's outer sheath. The cables are intended for aerial installations.
