QSFP+ 40G transceivers are high-performance optical modules designed for fast and reliable data transmission in modern telecommunications networks and data centers. They use the QSFP+ standard, which enables bandwidth of up to 40 Gb/s while maintaining compact size and low power consumption.
Dual versions of these modules perform transmission using two optical fibers - one for transmitting (TX) and one for receiving (RX). This solution ensures connection stability, high signal quality, and easy integration with existing infrastructure based on standard Duplex LC cabling.
QSFP+ 40G Dual Fiber transceivers are based on four transmission channels (4 × 10 Gb/s), which - thanks to CWDM wavelength multiplexing - are combined into a single optical stream transmitted over a pair of fibers. On the receiving side, the signal is demultiplexed back into four independent channels, ensuring high performance and transmission reliability.
Depending on the model, these modules support various transmission distances - from a few kilometers (e.g., LX4) up to 30 km (ER4) over single-mode fiber. This makes them suitable for both campus networks and large-scale operator infrastructures.
