SFP28 OPTEC 25G Passive Copper Cable 2 m AWG 30
SFP28 25G Passive Copper Cable (Passive DAC) transceivers are cost-effective and energy-efficient solutions for direct 25G connections between devices equipped with SFP28 ports in data center and server room environments. It enables a direct connection without the need for additional optical modules.
Thanks to its passive design, the cable does not contain built-in signal amplification electronics, resulting in very low power consumption, low latency, and high transmission reliability.
Modules in the SFP28 form factor are an evolution of the SFP+ standard and are designed for high port density environments such as data centers and cloud infrastructure. They share the same mechanical dimensions as SFP+ modules but feature electronic components adapted for 25 Gb/s transmission. This eliminates the need to replace passive infrastructure. Additionally, SFP28 transceivers are backward compatible with SFP+ ports – they can be used in SFP+ ports, although the speed will be reduced accordingly. Conversely, switches supporting 25 Gb/s technology and equipped with SFP28/SFP+ ports allow the use of SFP+ modules in SFP28 ports by adjusting the port speed in the device settings.
Compatibility also applies to PCC (Passive Copper Cable) and ACC (Active Copper Cable).
