SFP28 to SFP28 OPTEC 25G MM Active Optical Cable 5 m DDM

SFP28 25G Active Optical Cable (AOC) transceivers are a high-performance fiber optic solution designed for high-speed data transmission in modern data center networks and enterprise environments. This active multimode cable integrates two SFP28 modules (transmitter and receiver) within a factory-terminated cable, eliminating the need for separate modules and patch cords.

The use of AOC cables simplifies installation and reduces infrastructure deployment costs - the plug-and-play solution requires no additional configuration. Thanks to multimode fiber technology, it ensures high bandwidth and reliable transmission over medium distances, where copper DAC cables are no longer efficient.

SFP28 modules are an evolution of the SFP+ standard and are designed for high port-density environments such as data centers and cloud infrastructures. They share the same form factor as SFP+ modules but include electronic components adapted for 25 Gb/s transmission. This allows reuse of existing passive infrastructure. Additionally, SFP28 transceivers are backward compatible with SFP+ ports - they can be used in SFP+ ports, but at reduced speeds. Conversely, switches supporting 25 Gb/s and equipped with SFP28/SFP+ ports can also use SFP+ modules in SFP28 ports by adjusting port speed settings.
Compatibility also applies to PCC (Passive Copper Cable) and ACC (Active Copper Cable).
