Transceivery SFP28 25G – Fibre
modules with SFP+ dimensions but with electronical components adjusted for 25
Gb/s tranmission. Thanks to that soultion there is no need to change the
passive components. Moreover, SFP28 transceivers are backwards compatible with
SFP+ ports; they can be used in SFP+ ports. However, their data rate will be accordingly
reduced. It works both ways. 25G switches equipped with SFP28/SFP+ ports will suport
SFP+ transceivers after changing data rate settings.
