Signal Fire AI-5 PRO Fusion Splicer
The Signal Fire AI-5 PRO fusion splicer is a modern device designed for building and servicing FTTH networks, IP monitoring, industrial automation, and local fiber optic installations. Thanks to the use of 6 fiber positioning motors, an autofocus system, precise optics with 300x magnification, and the ability to align to the fiber core or cladding, the AI-5 PRO model ensures high-quality splices while maintaining an attractive price.
The minimum splicing time is just 8 seconds, while the fast heater allows a 40 mm shrink sleeve to be heated in only 18 seconds, significantly streamlining field work. The device is equipped with a large, 5-inch TFT display with adjustable brightness, ensuring comfortable observation of the splicing process even in difficult lighting conditions. An additional convenience is the built-in LED light, which facilitates work after dark or in poorly lit areas.
The Signal Fire AI-5 PRO can splice all the most popular single-mode and multi-mode fibers. Typical splice loss is only 0.02 dB for single-mode fibers and 0.01 dB for multi-mode fibers, with a minimum return loss of 60 dB, which translates into high-quality connections.
The device offers various splicing programs, including a practical Auto mode that automatically selects the operating parameters. Electric arc calibration is performed manually via the SignalFire2 app, allowing the user to maintain proper splice quality in changing environmental conditions.
Universal holders allow for convenient mounting of 250 μm and 900 μm fibers, tight and loose tube cables, DROP cables, and patch cords, eliminating the need for additional adapters. The splicer supports fibers with a cladding diameter of 80-150 μm and coating diameters of 125-1000 μm. The recommended fiber cleave length is 8-16 mm.
Device configuration is carried out via the free SignalFire2 application, available for Android and iOS systems. The app allows users to change splicer settings, perform arc calibration, generate splice reports, and export history to XLS files. Additionally, users can take advantage of the Smart Lock feature to remotely manage the device, limit operation time or the number of work cycles, and monitor the splicer's usage.
The splicer is equipped with a replaceable 5200 mAh lithium-ion battery, allowing for approximately 160 splicing and heating cycles on a single charge. A full charge takes about 3 hours, and the battery can be charged both inside and outside the device. The power adapter supports an input voltage of 100-240 V AC, delivering an output of 13.5 V DC with a 4.8 A current rating.
A robust metal housing with a rubber base increases resistance to mechanical damage and ensures stability during operation. The splicer weighs only 2.05 kg, making it convenient to transport and use in the field. The entire kit, including the bag, weighs approximately 3.5 kg. The device can operate in temperatures ranging from -15°C to +50°C and up to 95% humidity (non-condensing), allowing for trouble-free use in demanding conditions.
The kit includes a full set of accessories needed to start working, including a transport bag, fiber cleaver, strippers, a dispenser bottle, a cleaning brush, a carrying strap, a charger, and a rain cover.
