Signal Fire fibre optic fusion splicers are based on powerful quad-core industrial processors, which makes them the fastest devices of this type on the market. The splicers use core-alignment as well as clad alignment technology. The highest offered model of the fusion splicer is capable of making welds within 5 seconds. A fully charged high-capacity lithium-ion battery can heat as many as 240 fibres, and the device can charge a phone at the same time. The electrode life is approximately 3000 cycles.
