Signal Fire AI-20 Fiber Optic Fusion Splicer with Integrated Cleaver
The Signal Fire AI-20 is a modern fourth-generation fiber optic fusion splicer designed for installers and maintenance engineers working in FTTH, telecommunications, LAN networks, and fiber optic infrastructure. The device combines advanced fiber splicing functions with practical measurement tools, ensuring high work efficiency both in the field and during large installation projects.
The splicer uses core or cladding alignment technology and six precision motors responsible for accurate fiber positioning before splicing. This ensures high-quality joints with minimal transmission loss. The splicing process takes approximately 6 seconds, while the sleeve heating process takes about 15 seconds, significantly speeding up installation work.
One of the biggest advantages of the AI-20 model is the integrated automatic fiber cleaver, which performs cutting automatically after closing the lid. This solution improves fiber preparation, reduces working time, and eliminates the need for additional tools.
The device is equipped with a 5-inch color LCD touchscreen and a fiber observation system with up to 320× magnification, allowing convenient monitoring of the splicing process and precise assessment of joint quality. The intuitive interface makes the device easy to operate even for less experienced users.
The Signal Fire AI-20 also features a built-in 15 mW Visual Fault Locator (VFL), enabling fault detection up to 10 km, as well as an optical power meter supporting wavelengths of 850, 980, 1270, 1300, 1310, 1490, 1550, 1577, 1625, and 1650 nm. The measurement range from -50 to +30 dBm allows basic diagnostics without additional equipment.
Power is supplied by a removable 7800 mAh lithium-ion battery, enabling up to 240 splice and heat cycles per charge. Full charging takes about 3.5 hours, ensuring high mobility and all-day field operation.
Additional functionality is provided by compatibility with the free Signalfire2 mobile app for Android and iOS. The app allows remote configuration, device calibration, technical documentation access, event log export, splice analysis, and access control management.
