Extreme Networks Summit 7520-48XT-6C Base Unit is an advanced, high-performance enterprise-class network switch designed for aggregation and core applications in modern IT infrastructures. The device offers 48 × 1/10GbE ports in the 10GBase-T (copper) standard and 6 × QSFP28 uplink ports supporting 40/100GbE speeds, ensuring high throughput and flexibility in network design.
The base model is delivered without power supplies and fan modules (empty slots), allowing configuration to be tailored to specific environment requirements. Thanks to its non-blocking architecture and switching capacity of 2.16 Tbps, the device guarantees wire-speed performance and low latency.
The 7520 series features Universal Hardware, enabling the choice of operating system (Switch Engine - EXOS or Fabric Engine - VOSS), providing high deployment flexibility. Support for Extreme Fabric and advanced security policies enables end-to-end network segmentation and implementation of a zero-trust model.
An additional advantage is the ability to manage the device via Extreme Platform ONE, ExtremeCloud IQ, or locally through GUI and CLI. The switch also supports stacking of up to 8 units (in EXOS mode), allowing infrastructure scalability.
